With Battle withdrawing from the league, Seaford Under 11 softball team took advantage of the weather to hold a practice game whilst supporters basked in the sunshine at The Salts.

A competitive pairs game ensued which saw some real good cricket played by the up and coming youngsters. Finley and Frank found the going tough with the bat but finished with a respectable 208. Henry bowling Finley and running him out too with some good fielding and Frank too was unfortunate to get out by a solid catch by Adam. Daniel and Adam were both keen to play their defensive shots and ended up scoring 217. Adam hit a solid 7 runs but was also bowled by Finley who was over the moon to pick up his first wicket in what was a very impressive bowling display. Third place went to Henry and Ruby with Henry hitting a good 10 runs but was also out twice. Bowled by Finley and by Daniel in what was some good steady bowling by both youngsters. Ruby did well hitting 6 runs but more importantly wasn't out and this partnership finished on 232 runs. One ahead in runners up position was Frankie and Sammy who was making his debut appearance. Frankie especially impressed with the bat smashing 21 runs and also didn't get out. Sammy showed promise hitting a solid 5 runs but a good catch from Joseph denied him any further. Winners though today were Joseph and Blake who finished with a combined score of 242. Joseph hit 30 runs including the only six of the match and Blake was key in picking up some vital singles. Both of these were outdone by Ruby's bowling as she bowled both of them to restrict their scoring but it wasn't enough as these two eased into the well deserved winners position.

Sunday 10th June hopefully sees Firle bring their Under 11 softball to The Salts where Seaford will be looking to utilise the skills they have practiced in what should be a close encounter.
