Complete Wash Out

The second Saturday in the League season turned out to be a complete wash out for all of four Seaford Saturday teams, with pretty much every game in Sussex either abandoned or cancelled. Proper wet Saturday!

At The Salts The 1s & 4s matches were abandoned early without a ball being bowled. The travelling 2s & 3s did at least try to beat the weather with some play at Rotherfield and Robertsbridge respectively, but, finally they had to capitulate to the rain which had the final say.

At Rotherfield the 2s batted and reached 110-6 off 37 overs, Jamie Goddard scoring 38, when they came off for an early team and never made it back out. At Robertsbridge it was a similar scene, the 3s fielding first and the hosts reaching 224-6 off 41.4 overs before play was brought to a halt. Sam Mullett, Mick Spragg & Barney Pullinger with 2 wickets each.

A soggy scene at Rothefield CC

Sunday's match away to Heathfield Park was also called off, not due to the weather though, frustratingly due to a lack of players.

Better luck with the weather next weekend, the 1s away to Eastbourne 2s, 2s home to Hailsham 2s, 3s home to Hadlow Down and the 4s away to Linden Park 5s.
